Caregiving in Canada: Current State, Solutions, and Policy Change
with Liv Mendelsohn, Executive Director, Canadian Centre for Caregiving Excellence
Caregivers support individuals across all stages of life, from aging parents to children with disabilities or serious illnesses, and friends or neighbours experiencing sickness. Currently, one in four Canadians provides care and most will become caregivers at some point in their lives. However, the Canada’s caregiving system is facing significant pressures due to an aging populating and increasing demands on caregivers, including those supporting children. This session will explore the latest data on caregiving in Canada, highlight key challenges, and introduce the National Caregiving Strategy as a roadmap for change.
This is an online session.
