Unit Representatives are retired faculty members from the Vancouver and Okanagan campuses, who represent UBC faculties, departments, schools and libraries on behalf of the College. The aim is to have a representative from every UBC academic unit.
Unit representatives play an important role in the enrichment of retirement for retired colleagues and the enhancement of the retirement planning process for those nearing retirement.
Their priority is three fold:
- to assist the College Office in maintaining current and accurate contact information for unit members;
- to maintain periodic contact with the unit’s retired or soon to be retired faculty members or librarians to share information of interest and inform members of special events or gatherings; and
- to maintain periodic contact with their unit’s leaders and administrators to receive and provide pertinent updates.
As a retiree, your unit representative will be reaching out to you occasionally, either by email or in person. If you are nearing retirement from UBC, your unit representative may be a helpful resource.
