SIG: Okanagan Outdoor Activities Group
November 4, 2025, 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm
Kal Crystal Waters Short Loop
For the November meet up the group will be starting from Kekuli Bay Campground and Provincial Park, which is located between Oyama and Coldstream, on the east side of Highway 97 along Kalamalka Lake.
We will be taking the Kal Crystal Waters Short Loop, which is about 8 km in length and has an elevation change of 170 m. It uses part of the Rail Trail and part of the very old abandoned Highway 97. Beautiful views of Kal Lake!
Because this hike will be in November, please bring warm clothes, including a rain jacket, as well as water and a snack. It can be breezy along the lake. This is an easy walk, so no special footwear is required. We will look for a sheltered placed along the beach to have our snack.
** New Meeting point: There is a new meeting location because the main parking lot is closed for the season. Turn east off Highway 97 at Bailey Road, right opposite the sign to Predator Ridge and park.
Please let Melanie (melanie.jones@ubc.ca) know if you are planning on coming.
