Cruising the Danube - from Passau to Budapest with Paul Steinbok, Professor Emeritus, Dept. of Surgery

After 3 nights in Prague, Czech Republic, my wife and I travelled by road to Passau, Germany, with a stopover in the fairytale city of Český Krumlov. In Passau, we boarded our longship, the Viking Var, for a 10-day cruise along the Danube to Budapest, with stops in Linz, Grein and Vienna (Austria), Bratislava (Slovakia) and Gyor (Hungary). This 5-country trip provided a diverse mix of experiences, from small towns to major cities, and scenic river views, particularly when cruising the Wachau Valley, enriched by a strong historical backdrop.
