Okanagan Valley Wine Update
Expertise level: all levels.
How is the BC wine industry (especially the Okanagan Valley) faring after the extreme cold weather last January that damaged most vineyards? David visited the Okanagan Valley in the fall 2024 and has discussed the cold damage with various wineries/winemakers. He will provide an update and present some BC wines that stand out for their high quality:price ratio. All UBC Emeriti and their guests are welcome.
Participants will need at least one ISO one glass (available for $5) and the cost for the wines and food is estimated to be $15-20 (cash) per person.
*We will allocate some time to also discuss upcoming Vancouver wine events and again include discussion of the Vancouver International Wine Festival late February.
Please brief guests on our “drinking” approach/policy - wine education with a sip & spit approach - and if your intention is to participate/bring guests confirm with ahead of time.
If you are interested in attending, location & parking and cost will be provided upon request. Contact David McArthur at david.mcarthur@ubc.ca.
