Nancy Gallini
Dean Emeritus of Arts (2017) and School of Economics

"Adventures in Retirement: Building on Skills as Academic Economist and Past Dean of Arts"

Nancy Gallini is Professor Emeritus in the Vancouver School of Economics. She was Dean of Arts at UBC (2002-2010) and, before that faculty member at the University of Toronto. Nancy’s research focuses on problems in innovation, intellectual property and competition policy. She has served on several economic journal editorial boards, SSHRC’s governing council, Mitacs Research Council, and as president of the Canadian Economics Association (2016-17).  In 2020, she was appointed Fellow of the Canadian Economics Association.

Jerry Wasserman - moderator
Professor Emeritus of English and Theatre (2017)

Jerry Wasserman retired in 2016 after 44 years teaching at UBC. Jerry is also an actor and theatre critic with Lifetime Achievement awards from the Canadian Association for Theatre Research and the Greater Vancouver Professional Theatre Association. He is a member of the BC Entertainment Hall of Fame.
