Hike along the Gladstone Trail, Peachland
Diana French, Professor Emerita Anthropology, will lead us on a hike on the Gladstone Trail in Peachland. This recently constructed trail is named after a 100 year-old gold mine, which we will view during our hike. At the top of a gradual climb using a series of switchbacks, we will be greeted by a 400 year-old ponderosa pine. There are also some spectacular views of the Okanagan Valley.
Total length: 7 km; elevation gain 377 m; estimated time 3 hr.
Bring snacks for the trail. For those interested, we can have a picnic lunch at the historic Gellatly Nut Farm ten minutes from the trail, where there are picnic tables on the beach, and nuts for sale!
Please contact Diana at diana.french@ubc.ca for driving instructions and meeting times, or with any questions.
Note: the start and end time of this gathering is to be confirmed.
