Philosopher's Café
October 15, 2025, 11:00 am to 12:00 pm
Topic: Canada’s Response to Climate Change: Where is it Going?
BC’s wild fires have been raging all summer, with smoke affecting Vancouver’s atmosphere. Danielle Smith’s government in Alberta is strongly backing more and more oil extraction. Mark Carney has cancelled the federal consumer carbon tax and is non-committal about meeting the previous 2030 emissions targets. Is Canada giving up on fighting climate change? What are the implications of federal and provincial governments’ actions for this country?
