SIG: Wine Appreciation

Christmas/holiday Wine Appreciation Event
Expertise level: all levels.
The UBC Emeritus College Wine Appreciation/Education SIG has two upcoming wine tasting events scheduled on UBC campus. Either or both can be attended. New and past participants, spouses and guests are welcome.
- December 5th at 2:30: a Christmas/holiday wine appreciation event with wines appropriate for the season: David will supply 4 wines (2 white table wines and 2 dessert-style (white) wines to pair with seasonal cookies, pastries (provided by volunteers). These will be highly rated wines: an Okanagan white table wine + an international white table wine PLUS a New Zealand “sticky” (or a Sauternes) and an aged white icewine.
- December 12th at 2:30: a Christmas/holiday wine appreciation event with wines appropriate for the season. David will supply 4 wines (2 dry, classic reds and 2 dessert (sweet) red wines to pair with with seasonal (chocolatey) cookies, pastries, brownies for example (provided by volunteers).
These will be a highly rated wines: a “big" Okanagan red + an international “big" red table wine plus a Port/Oloroso sherry and an aged red icewine.
Wines provided by members of the UBC EC Wine Appreciation/Education SIG at these events may also be available for tasting.
*Also, there may be an opening(s) for UBC EC members for a separate event - a tour of the UBC Wine Library noon December 11th - more information to come.

Participants are asked to bring at least one ISO or equivalent wine glass per person (2 glasses per person is far better) and a water bottle + a spit cup!
