This insurance guide is in the process of being updated to reflect a number of significant changes that have been made recently to the insurance plans that are available to you.
We expect the revised guide to be posted here on the Emeritus College website no later than early January, after it has been reviewed for accuracy by the insurance providers.
This edition of the guide will continue to be helpful to you, whether you have a short or longer time line to make health and travel insurance decisions. It explains insurance plan provisions that are still in effect, as well as guidance on the factors to consider in making decisions regarding your insurance.
Our recommendation: If you do not need to make imminent decisions about your health and travel insurance, you may wish to wait until the updated guide is available. However, if you need to obtain new insurance, make changes to your existing insurance, or want to know how the insurance plans are changing, please check out the information below before consulting the insurance guide.
The UBC Emeritus College guide to health and travel insurance provides very helpful charts which compare the details of:
- three Extended Health Plans (Appendix 3, part 1 in the guide)
- four plans featuring emergency Travel Insurance (Appendix 3, part 2 in the guide)
