THE 2022 JOHNSON SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM IS OPEN
Johnson, Inc. is once again offering 50 scholarships valued at $1,000 each to eligible students attending a post-secondary educational institution in Canada in the fall of 2022.
The Johnson Scholarship Program is open to children and grandchildren of all UBC Emeritus College members (even if they are not Johnson policyholders).

Route: From Science World following Union, Adanac and Frances to Burnaby to return via Penzance, Wall, Powell and Carrall to Science World

The UBC Emeritus College seeks to assist in fostering, promoting, and disseminating the scholarly activities / academic pursuits of retired faculty, consonant with the University's mission, by disbursing funds provided for this purpose by the University, on the initiative of the President.
2022 ELIGIBILITY, CRITERIA AND PROCESS
Members of the UBC Emeritus College (from both UBC-O and UBC-V) are eligible.
(All senate-appointed emeriti are automatically members of the College.)
The following documents are required:
1. Written justification for the expenses.
2. Supporting documentation which could include conference program, invitation letter, etc. (if applicable)
3. An up-to-date CV (reflecting scholarly activity in the last 6 years) in whichever format is easiest (UBC, common CV, N5F, etc.)
4. Detailed receipts for the expenses incurred.

EASY RIDERS — RIDE 3
"LUNCH IN STEVESTON"
An enjoyable AAA ride (All Ages and Abilities). This outing will be longer in duration, but physically less challenging, than some others, carries us through some scenic and interesting territory ,and should provide lots of opportunity for conversations.
Meet at 11:00am at the corner of Van Horne Way (Canada Line Bikeway) and the Bridgeport Trail - which is west of Hwy 99 and east of Garden City Way. (Note that Bridgeport Trail is not Bridgeport Road)
Route: We take the Bridgeport Trail east to Shell Road, follow Shell Road south to the Fraser River Dyke, then head west to Steveston for lunch (this leg is approximately 17kms)

We should arrive at Garry Point Park between 12:30 and 1:00
After lunch we ride north along the West Dyke to the Terra Nova Lands, then east along the South Arm Dyke to Cambie, and River Road and Bridgeport Station. (approximately 12 kms, all at a few feet above sea level)

Travels in Eastern Turkey, Georgia and Armenia
Presented by: William Ziemba, Professor Emeritus of Commerce and Business Administration
Bill will describe his travels in Eastern Turkey, Georgia and Armenia, starting in 1973 and going into the 2nd decade of the 21st century. He visited Georgia as the country was recovering from the previous Russian occupation. Among other things, Bill will talk about Georgian orange wine made in underground barrels, the Armenian genocide and the Oriental rugs from that part of the world.
